Hedge fund advisory

Hedge fund advisory services are offered to institutions by our sister company Fortune. Fortune is a leading, London-based, alternative asset management firm offering customised portfolio management services for a range of private wealth management groups, family offices, insurance companies, banks, pension funds and independent financial advisers.

Fortune is majority owned by Close Asset Management Holdings Limited, itself a subsidiary of Close Brothers Group plc, and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority in the United Kingdom to provide investment management services. Fortune is also registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser.

Fortune serves as adviser to over £3 billion of investments. Our firm has been advising family offices and their advisers on investing in alternative investments since 1996.

Fortune can act as a discretionary adviser to a client’s own vehicle or structure a fund within its own offshore infrastructure.

Drawing from over 100 approved hedge funds and a universe of over 80 managed accounts, we work with clients to build diversified, decorrelated portfolios of Funds and Managed Accounts to meet our clients' objectives. All Funds and Managed Accounts are selected by our investment team as a integral function of the fund management process, applying the same exacting investment disciplines of detailed manager evaluation and due diligence that has been the hallmark of Fortune since 1996.

We seek to implement an investment strategy cost effectively through our information technology platform FortuneNet which serves to collate and aggregate information with respect to all the underlying legacy and prospective investments, providing our clients with real-time, remote access to their investments 24/7, whilst obviating the need for a fund of funds structure.

The platform is designed to facilitate portfolio construction, risk oversight and manager monitoring within a single operating environment. Fortune provides a total turn key solution including independent offshore structures and corporate governance or works in partnership with its clients and their existing mandates.

Fortune has a global client base in over 24 countries and offers a range of offshore mutual funds which are all overseen by an independent board of directors. The firm is staffed with seasoned investment professionals with a vast experience of trading and investing including Nancy Curtin, former head of investments, Schroders and Jack D. Schwager, an industry veteran, whose prolific knowledge of hedge fund strategies has been illustrated in his ‘Market Wizard’s books as well as ‘Schwager on Futures’. A highly qualified team of analysts led by Richard Tarvin, a co-founder of the firm with over 14 years' hedge fund experience, brings additional expertise to the process of selecting funds and running assets.
