Retirement planning
Other than first commencing employment, retirement is likely to be one of the biggest lifestyle changes that an individual will face.
There are material considerations such as:
- The amount and structure of your pension
- Entitlement to and accessing State benefits
- Health matters
- How to invest savings and lump sums wisely to maintain a standard of living throughout retirement.
In addition there are cultural considerations:
- What to do with all the extra time
- Loss of status/ responsibility
- Affect on relationships.
Our research and experience has indicated that financial security is one of the biggest concerns for an individual planning for retirement.
Close has been advising people who are approaching retirement for almost 40 years.
Our aim is to help you to make better informed decisions and to give you advice on investing to obtain a financially secure future.
We provide around 650 financial education events a year to over 200 different UK employers for their leavers. We welcome over 15,000 people a year to these events, helping them with the important decisions at this significant time in their lives.
As well as providing retirement planning events to employers we also run programmes of open retirement course for all leavers and for senior executives. Individuals can book to attend any of these events prior to retiring. We hold them in hotels across the UK. See our current programme, book onto a course or request more information here.
